Our cottages, once the farm stables, are self contained each with a small gardens for you to enjoy. Dogs are of course welcome (as long as their owners are well behaved).
Neuadd Deg (pronounced Nayahth Deg) is a 4 acre smallholding sitting in the hills of the Carmarthenshire countryside. We are lucky to enjoy panoramic views of unspoilt countryside and dark skys if you enjoy star gazing. We are located just north of the famous market town of Carmarthen. We are also a short drive away from the Brecon Beacons National Park and have the Pembrokeshire and Ceredigion coastlines within easy reach.
We have pigs, chickens, sheep, horses and alpacas. Not to mention Alfie (shepherd collie cross) & Lilah (blue great dane). And don't forget Ray, the town turned country black and white cat. They all love the attention from our guests.
There is so much to do around Neuadd Deg. Carmarthen castle is just a few miles away. The castle was captured by Owain Glyndŵr in 1405. Henry VII's father died at Carmarthen Castle in 1456.
The Gwili Railway is a Welsh heritage railway, that operates a preserved standard gauge railway line from the site of Abergwili Junction along a four-and-a-half-mile section of the former Carmarthen to Aberystwyth line.
Rob and Sarah look forward to welcoming you to their beautiful smallholding. We arrived in March 2021, in the middle of the Covid 19 lockdown. Following our dreams we moved from Basingstoke to start living the "good life". With family and friends living in Wales, it was always the dream to set up a lifestyle business in this most beautiful Welsh county.
From Neuadd Deg there are some of the best sweeping, twisty roads in Wales for motorbikes and some of the quietest (and steepest) hills for cyclists. If you are more of a water sports type then we are so close to the whole of the stunning West Wales coastline.
Our cottages are modest but cosy. Each has a woodburner, comfy sofas, fully fitted kitchen, free WiFi (gigabit connection), TV with free Netflix and Amazon Prime. Private outdoor seating areas with stunning views and a bbq just for your use. There are also plenty of brochures for local attractions. So you will never be bored.
Nestled in the Carmarthenshire countryside you will be forgiven for thinking you are miles from anywhere, with dark skies and quiet lanes. But, you are only a few miles from the centre of Carmarthen town with great shopping and great local restaurants.
